(Babynow – 30/03/2010). The new stroller Xtreet (Emotion by babyhome) has been awarded with the prestigious Red Dot Award under the category of best product design in 2010.
Red Dot is one of the oldest and most prestigious design institutions worldwide, which annually has been awarding and distinguishing the best products in different design categories for more than 50 years now.
During all these years the Red Dot Design Award has awarded products developed by renowned design teams such as the Apple Company, Mercedes-Benz, Nokia, Philips and Sony, becoming a global synonym of quality. Now the Spanish company Babynow, with its brand Emotion by Babyhome enters among this select group with its Xtreet stroller, achieving an authentic label of quality and international recognition in the field of design.
Since 1955, the red dot has been awarded by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen (Germany). This year more than 12,000 different products in 17 different categories from a total of 57 countries have submitted their products hoping to win the “Red Dot”.
The winners of the Red Dot award are selected by an International jury of 30 renowned designers and experts in each of the categories. This selection is done under the criteria of the degree of innovation, functionality, durability, self-explanatory quality and ecological accountability of the product.
The award-winners will be honoured at the ceremony held on the Essen Aalto Theatre (Germany) the next 5th of July, with more than 1200 guests. Moreover the winning products such as the Xtreet stroller of Emotion, will be displayed in the “Essen red dot design museum” in the exhibition ‘Design on stage - winners red dot award: product design 2010’.
