During the 70th Edition of the International Children’s Fashion Fair (FIMI) and the 22nd Edition of ‘Cero a Cuatro’ International Baby Goods Fair, events taking place at the Valencia Fair.
For the second year running, the Spanish Manufacturers Association of Children’s
Products, ASEPRI, is backing ‘active plazas’ to showcase the latest trends and novelties in the world of Spanish children’s fashion and babycare products. They will offer a series of activities at the 70th Edition of the International Children’s Fashion Fair (FIMI) and the 22nd Edition of the ‘Cero a Cuatro’ International Baby Goods Fair, events taking place at the Valencia Fair from 22 to 24 January.
The sector’s most important fairs at the national level will see the presence of ASEPRI once again this year, when it brings together 44 children’s fashion brands and 36 babycare product brands. ASEPRI will have a promotional stand at both fairs (at FIMI: Pavilion 6, Level 2, Stand C 188 and at the ‘Cero a Cuatro’ International Baby Goods Fair: Pavilion 7, Level 2, Stand C 50).
ASEPRI will use the ‘active plazas’ not only to showcase the latest trends and novelties in children’s fashion and babycare products, but also to publicise new image catalogues in the sector, and to mount out a series of parallel activities designed to liven up points of sale, promoting sector creativity, innovation and competitiveness. ASEPRI is assisted in these activities by IMPIVA (Valencian Institute of Small and Medium-sized Industry) and co-financed by ERDF.
The innovative spaces provided by the ‘active plazas’ take on particular relevance for points of sale, manufacturers and sales agents alike, since they are an essential tool for revealing trends in the sector and imparting privileged and in-depth information on the market.
Specifically, the ‘Trends Cubed’ Plaza will set out the trends in children’s fashion and babycare products for the autumn/winter 2010-2011 season which will be the inspiration for points of sale (FIMI. Pavilion 6, Level 2, ‘Plaza’ 1). Along with the window dressing space, this area has enjoyed the assistance of IMPIVA and has been co-financed by the ERDF and IVEX (Valencian Exports Institute).
The new proposals in terms of lines, shapes, colours, fabrics and prints that will be on view in this area aim to assist points of sale in choosing the product which best suits their establishment and their customers.
The autumn/winter 2010/2011 season sees new winds of freedom blowing, new relationships between form and material attractively combined, nature revered and the eternal valued, contrasts stimulated and the imagination fired up.
Compiled into a reference notebook on trends which will be available for consultation in this plaza, all of these proposals are the results of painstaking work by ASEPRI for which more than one hundred sources were quizzed, among them: international fairs, consumption and trend panels, desk and laboratory studies, research studies and publications.
In addition, visitors to this space can gain a sneak preview of some of the spring/summer 2011 trends, particularly aimed at manufacturers, which ASEPRI will shortly be presenting.
Following its success at last year’s edition of FIMI, ASEPRI is once again backing innovation for points of sale and sales agents through organising window dressing courses. The aim of this initiative is to provide solutions for improving the image of a shop and its products, bringing added value and increased profits to the point of sale. (FIMI. Pavilion 6, Level 2, ‘Plaza’ 7)
A total of eight sessions will be offered by the prestigious window dressing company Bomarzo Deco in collaboration with FIMI, to reveal the latest techniques for fashioning an eye-catching, creative and original window display. The sessions will use different children’s products and will be held on the following days and times over the three days of the fair:
Friday 22 and Saturday 23 January:
- Morning. 10:30 to 11:00: babywear and baby shoes; 12:00 to 12:30: casual wear and footwear.
- Afternoon: 17:30 to 18:00: formal wear and footwear.
Sunday 24 January:
- Morning. 10:30 to 11:00: babywear and baby shoes; 12:00 to 12:30: casual wear and footwear.
Separately, the “Modernity Symbols” active plaza for the babycare products catalogue will showcase some of the values which most identify Spanish babycare products: respect for the environment, sustainability and support for using natural elements.
This area, put together with assistance from ICEX (the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade) and showcasing the babycare products catalogue, will be the sweetest area at the fair. On Saturday 23 visitors will be able to enjoy the ‘espana’ trademark Xoco Party, the most traditional of afternoon snacks with gifts for all those attending. In addition to this, 1500 fortune cookies will be handed out over the three days of the fair. (‘Cero a Cuatro’ International Baby Goods Fair. Pavilion 7, Level 2, Stand C 50)
Lastly, and as per previous editions, ASEPRI will be managing buyer trade missions and the foreign press invited to the two events organised and supported by the Valencia Fair and IVEX.
The sector’s best showcase for the autumn/winter 2010/2011 season
At the 70th Edition of the International Children’s Fashion Fair (FIMI) and the 22nd Edition of the ‘Cero a Cuatro’ International Baby Goods Fair, and working with ICEX, ASEPRI will be presenting the Spanish children’s fashion and babycare product catalogues with the new trends for autumn/winter 2010/2011 in fashion, and novelties for 2010 in the babycare products sector. It is an essential tool for promoting childcare products showcasing what’s new and the new season’s offer by the sector both nationally and internationally.
In the Kings of Glam catalogue, collections for the new season reflect a trend which is so ‘right now’: reinventing the 80s.
In Recycling & Eternity, Spanish babycare products take as their stage a space where values of eternity and nature are recovered, feelings which have been lost and are longed after again are expressed, and recycling is turned into the symbol of modernity. A space reflecting the most up-to-the-minute trends, focusing on nature, sustainability, green living and authenticity.
